Aircraft Structures Lab.
The structure lab. contains
at the moment old instrumentations; namely stress test
apparatus, shear center testing bench and deflection measurement
apparatus.
The department is in the
phase of replacing the old items by new and additional testing
facilities besides plans for well equipped workshops for
teaching and research purposes.
Vibrations & Acoustics
Lab.
The Vibration and Acoustics
the most new unit in the Aeronautical Engineering Department.
Studying vibration and acoustic phenomena is paramount for
engineering design of safer and environmentally friendlier
aircraft and other engineering applications.
the lab. contains the following equipment:
-
Modal Analysis unit
-
Sound Intensity unit
Aerodynamic &
propulsion Lab.
This laboratory is equipped by different
devices and measurement tools that helps students to understand
different courses such as; Fluid Mechanics (AE301), Aerodynamics
I (AE302), Aerodynamics II (AE402), Boundary Layer Theory
(AE418) and Wind Tunnel Techniques (AE430).
The Laboratory contains the
following equipment:
-
Subsonic wind tunnel.
-
Super sonic wind tunnel.
-
Helicopter demonstrator
model.
-
Flight demonstrator.
-
Smoke tunnel.
-
Laminar & turbulent flow
test equipment.
-
Pipe flow experiments.
-
Jet engine (Gas Turbine)
test stand.
-
Pressure and velocity
measurement equipment.
Computer Lab.
The department have two
computer labs. The first one contains 9 work stations connected
to a server by a local network.
And the other contains 5 work
stations, mainly used by graduate students and staff members.
